—-Lukulu District AIDS Task Force (DATF) has received 100 boxes of male condoms for prevention thematic programs.

Lukulu District Aids Advisory Coordinator, Roselyn Sheba, said each box contains 7200 pieces, adding that Mitete district will get 40 boxes.

Mrs Sheba told ZANIS in an interview today that all health centres and DATF projects sights are targeted areas for distribution.

She has since appealed to line government ministries and departments as well as stakeholders who have a capacity to work together with the DACA in distributing the consignment.

Meanwhile, the DACA disclosed that the district has recorded a reduction on the HIV infection rate from 10 to 9 per cent, a development that has cleared her office.

Mrs Sheba hopes that the rate will continue reducing with the coming of condoms and that they will be used accordingly and consistently.

She, however, disclosed that there is a shortfall of female condoms in the districts but has since said there is no reason for people to indulge in unprotected sex with their partners.
