The Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC- has arrested Livingstone Town Clerk for abuse of authority of office involving over 7-hundred and 50- thousand Kwacha.
Vivien Chikoti, 49, was arrested on Monday and has been charged with one count of Abuse of Authority of Office contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
But Ms Chikoti has been released on bond and will appear in Court on 3rd October, 2014
This is contained in a statement issued to ZNBC News by ACC Public Relations Officer Timothy Moono.
Particulars of the alleged offence are that, Chikoti, on dates unknown but between 1st October 2010 and 31st October 2010 while employed as Kabwe Town Clerk, did abuse the authority of her office in the manner she facilitated the awarding of a Land Survey Contract to Mr. William Mhango for Kabwe Municipal Council.
The contract was worth 7-hundred and 78-thousand Kwacha which was above the threshold of the council.
