–The Grand Coalition on a People Driven Constitution has expressed hope that President Michael Sata will give a clear road map on the constitution making process at the official opening of Parliament this Friday.

Coalition Chairperson, Chiti Leonard, notes that the challenges faced by the country are as a result of what he describes as a bad constitution which the nation inherited from the colonial masters.

Fr Chiti said Zambians are resolute and want President Sata among other things to ensure that the constitution making process roadmap ends by December, 2014, and that the 2016 local government, Parliamentary and Presidential elections are held under the new constitution.

In a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Fr Chiti expressed confidence that President Sata’s speech during the opening of Parliament will not only be instructive but also give solutions to the social and economic challenges which the country has been facing over the years.

Fr Chiti said failure by President Sata to commit to the above issues will be a clear testimony of lack of political will by the PF government to give Zambians what is rightfully theirs.
