Councilor’s house gutted in Luampa District


Luampa, September 16, 2014 ZANIS—Newly elected Namando Ward UPND Councilor Mwiya Mundenge’s house has been gutted by fire in Luampa District in
Western Province.

 


ZANIS reports that Mr. Mundenge confirmed the tragedy in an interview in Luampa district , today.

 


Mr. Mundenge said the fire started around 11:00 hours and property worth about twelve thousand kwacha (K12, 000) has been burnt to ashes.

 


"At the time of there was no one at home, my wife and children went to prepare the field for the next farming season," he said "I am in a big problem I have lost everything in the fire.”

 


Mr. Mundenge said the source of fire is not known as he was at Luampa Mission, eight kilometers from Namando when his neighbours informed him about the incident.

 


He said he is taking the matter to police for further investigations.

 


Mr Mundeng elected Namando Ward Councilor on August 20, 2014 after the death of PF councilor Shishau Muthala.
