Nkana water rehabilitates infrastructure

Kitwe, Sept 10, 2014, ZANIS …… Nkana Water and Sewerage company has rehabilitated the sewer system and two water tanks in Mukuba -Natwange residential area in Kitwe.

The project cost the water utility company K13 million and is aimed at improving water supply and sewer service in the area.

Bupe Ward Councilor John Chilupula whose ward covers Mukuba Natwange disclosed the development to ZANIS in Kitwe today.

Mr Chilupula stated that the rehabilitation of the tanks will ensure uninterrupted water supply to the residents and also offer access to the sewer system to all the households.

Mr Chilupula noted that the residents of Kitwe’s Mukuba Natwange and Ndeke in general had been facing water supply problems as the water was only supplied at intervals and that most of the households were not connected to the water utility company sewer system.

He added that  Nkana Water and Sewerage company has also indicated that it will do the reticulation of water in Robert compound through Ndeke G- section so that every corner of the ward can have unlimited water supply.

Meanwhile,  Mr Chilupula has said that the construction of the police post in Bupe ward has been completed at a cost of K399,000 using Constituency Development Funds (CDF).

He said the police post will begin operating next month.

The civic leader noted that the construction of a police post which is located opposite new Ndeke- Hospital will help reduce crime in the area.
