ZRA intensifies internet sensitization
Kalulushi, Sep 9, 2014,ZANIS——-The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has urged Kalulushi residents to use the internet to  access services from the Authority.

ZRA Senior Inspector of Tax Odecious Madabbwa told ZANIS in an interview in Kalulushi today.

Mr. Madabbwa said the ZRA had modernised its operations and that the authority had introduced a computerised system of paying taxes called the tax on-line which was rolled out in 2013.

He said  the system allowed tax payers to file their returns from their offices, houses and as they travelled.

He said that there had been a good response from the people so far and that the authority’s  sensitization efforts were still continuing.

Mr. Madabba noted that the authority’s projection on the use of tax on line was that by the end of this year, 80 per cent of ZRA tax payers should be able to file in on line.

He said the advantages of this system was that it was less costly and faster and that the authority was trying to reduce the long quells at their offices, adding that Kalulushi had ZRA office.

"Kalulushi has no ZRA office, it is a cost. For a small tax payer," Mr. Madabbwa said.

He further said that the authority hoped to increase its compliance levels.

A team from ZRA is in Kalulushi conducting various tax payer services, including tax pay registration, sensitization on paying tax online and tax advisory services.
