Kapata donates blankets , fridges to Mandevu clinic

Lusaka, 27th August 2014, ZANIS  —  Mandevu Member of Parliament Jean Kapata this morning donated 30 blankets and two fridges to Mandevu Pediatrics Clinic in Lusaka.


The donation follows the shortage of blankets at Mandevu Pediatrics that was hindering the clinic from admitting more patients.


Ms Kapata who is also tourism minister said that the donation of blankets will help the clinic to accommodate more patients.


The parliamentarian who is also Tourism and Arts minister  also donated sixteen blankets to the aged and a piano to Highlands High School at the total cost of 30, 000 kwacha.


And  Mandevu Pediatrics Clinic Sister In-Charge Eva Hamiyana  has thanked the Member of Parliament for the gesture saying the donation will go a long way in alleviating the challenges that were faced at the children’s clinic.


She explained that the clinic has a bed space of sixteen and could not accommodate more patients due to lack of beddings.


Speaking on behalf of the aged beneficiaries, Lonia Chileshe said the donated blankets would not only benefit them but also the orphans that they are taking care of.

Meanwhile Highland High School Deputy Head teacher Catherine Chilukusha expressed gratitude saying the donation of a piano will enhance the teaching and learning of music at the school.
