—Distribution of building materials meant for the construction of classroom blocks in schools that have dilapidated structures in seven wards of Shiwang`andu district
has been completed.

Shiwang`andu Member of Parliament (MP), Stephen Kampyongo, urged community members to prepare upfront materials so that once building materials are given to them construction works may speed up.

Mr Kampyongo, therefore, implored Parents’ Teachers` Associations (PTAs) at Shiwang`andu Secondary and Mwilwa Primary Schools to ensure
that they prepare the needed upfront to facilitate construction works of additional classroom blocks.

The MP, who is also Deputy Home Affairs Minister, said the venture is to help in eradicating poor infrastructure in schools of
Shiwang`andu by the community working together with government.

He said this when he delivered building materials at Shiwang`andu Secondary Schools yesterday which marked the end of the distribution
programme of materials worth K700, 000 from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in seven wards.

And Shiwang`andu Secondary School Acting Head Teacher, Stephen Kangwa, said community members have moulded 40,000 bricks and collected
both crushed and uncrushed stones as community upfront.

Meanwhile, Shiwang`andu Secondary School PTA Vice Chairperson, Glendah Mukombola has thanked government for procuring building materials to support construction of
an additional 1×3 classroom block.

Ms Mukombola said pupils used to walk long distances before the establishment of the Shiwang`andu Day Secondary School at
Kalalantekwe.

She added that there is need for a dormitory for girls so as to provide proper security unlike unsecured residences where the girls
are currently renting without any one monitoring them.
