Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Prof. Nkandu Luo says government will soon audit the allocation of land in Mumbwa District which is marred by a lot of irregularities.

Prof. Luo said the Ministry of Lands will soon go to Mumbwa to audit the allocation of land in the district.

The Minister said the District Council and Chiefs have no authority to give out over 30,000 hectares of land to anyone without the consent of the President.

Prof. Luo said she has information that councillors and Chiefs have been giving huge chunks of land to themselves and later re-sale it to the so called investors.

She has since warned that if anyone will be found wanting they will face the wrath of law because their actions amount to theft.
