Visiting former Mozambican president Joachim Chissano says Zambia’s 50 years independence anniversary is a continental celebration.
Dr. Chissano said Zambia has contributed significantly to the liberation of many African countries hence the need for African country’s to celebrate with Zambia.
The former Mozambique President has since hailed the continued strong growing bilateral relations between Mozambique and Zambia in the past years 50 years.
Dr Chissano who was flanked by Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary George Zulu said this at a press briefing in Lusaka today.
ZANIS reports that the former Mozambican head of state is in the country for Zambia’s 50th independence celebration programme.
And Dr. Chissano has said there is need to educate people about the electoral processes in order to avoid conflicts during elections.
Dr. Chissano said people have to be well educated about all electoral stages so that they can develop confidence in the electoral institutions.
