One person dies as Post Bus hits motorbike

–One person has died while two others sustained serious injuries when the motorbike they were riding on was hit by a Post Bus along Zambezi- Chavuma road in Zambezi yesterday.

 

The Chavuma bound Post bus registration number ALE 5888 driven by Libwesha Kaso hit the motorbike at the T- junction at Kangolongolo area in Zambezi district.

 

Mr Kaso explained that he was driving at a fast speed when he suddenly saw a motorbike carrying three people join the main road from the bush.

 

He told ZANIS in Zambezi that he tried to avoid hitting the motorbike but failed as he was also protecting the passengers that were on board.

 

Mr Kaso has since been arrested and detained at Zambezi Police Station while the Post Bus is parked at the Police station.

 

Zambezi District Hospital Medical Officer Titus Malikidoho confirmed the death of Shadreck Sakasweka who sustained a deep cut on the head.

 

Dr Malikidoho said Justin Nguza who was riding the motor bike sustained a spinal injury while the third passenger identified as Queen Masumba sustained serious head injuries and a deep cut on the thigh.

 

Dr Malikidoho said the condition of the two surviving accident victims is stable.
