The Zambia Police has dismissed accusations of biasness towards the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in the manner it conducted itself in the just ended campaigns for today’s Mangango parliamentary by-elections.

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has particularly accused Police of having been in a partnership with the ruling Patriotic Front in an attempt to scandalize it by arresting its members ahead of today’s by-election.

But Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda has told Qfm News that such allegations cannot be substantiated.

Ms. Chanda says the Police conduct their duties in a professional manner and do not side with any political party during campaigns.

She says Police are there to protect lives and property, adding that in executing their mandate, Police officers do not segregate.
