The Grand Coalition championing for the speedy enactment of the new Republican Constitution has planned a National Conference to be held in Lusaka next week to discuss the way forward with regards the constitution making process.

The national conference is expected to be attended by members of opposition political parties, Civil Society organizations, the Church, Senior Citizens and other concerned stakeholders and individuals.

Grand Coalition Spokesperson, MacDonald Chipenzi has told QFM News in an interview that after learning that President Michael Sata is well and working at State House, the grand coalition will meet to strategize how they will push government to release the document.

Mr. Chipenzi states that the coalition had minimized its activities following the recent speculation over the President’s whereabouts which made it difficult to push for the agenda.

He says now that they have known that the President is well and working at State House, they will resume pushing for the release of the final draft constitution.

Mr. Chipenzi, who is also FODEP Executive Director, has further revealed that the grand coalition will ensure that they come up with a tentative program that will see to it that government feels the pressure and releases the final document.
