Kosamu optimistic of PF victory Mkushi South seat

Luano, August 13th, ZANIS— Patriotic Front (PF) campaign manager for the Mkushi South parliamentary by-election Philip Kosamu Serenje says  he is confident that the PF will emerge victorious in the forthcoming by-election set for 11th September 2014.

Mr Kosamu , who is also Serenje Member of Parliament and Lusaka Province Minister , says the PF has greater chances of scooping the vacant seat.

He said people in the area are in support of the PF because of the many developmental projects that it is undertaking in the entire Central Province.

ZANIS reports that Mr Kosamu was speaking when he addressed a rally at old Mkushi primary school grounds in Luano district,  yesterday.

Mr Kosamu is in Luano to drum up support for the PF candidate Davies Chisopa ahead of the11th September Mkushi south parliamentary by-election 2014.

He said Mr Chisopa is the right man for the people of Mkushi South constituency because of his quest to develop the area under the PF developmental agenda.

Other candidates vying  for the seat include opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate Agnes Ngandu and Sydney Chisenga for the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy MMD.

The Mkushi South parliamentary seat fell vacant after the Supreme Court ruled against the election of former MP MMD’s Sydney Chisanga on grounds of alleged electoral mal-practices.

The Mkushi South constituency has a total of 12,793 registered voters.
