AN UNDISCLOSED amount of money has gone missing at the Road Development Agency (RDA) headquarters after unknown people broke into the finance department and stole a safe.
The people broke into two offices in the finance department on Sunday and stole a safe, which contained money and some documents.

RDA senior manager for public relations Loyce Saili and police acting spokesperson Esther Mwata-Katongo confirmed the incident in separate interviews in Lusaka yesterday.
“Unknown people broke into two of our offices in the finance department and a safe has gone missing. Indeed, there was some money and some documents but we cannot tell how much was in the safe,” Mrs Saili said.
She said the missing amount of money would only be known after RDA accountants verify how much was in the safe and police complete investigations.
Mrs Saili said RDA has reported the matter to police.
She said RDA will wait for police to investigate the matter to give further details about the incident.
And Mrs Mwata-Katongo said police have received a report of the missing safe.
“We have received a report of a missing safe from RDA and we have instituted investigations into the matter. The incident happened on August 10 or August 11 this year,” she said.
Mrs Mwata-Katongo said the amount of money stolen is not known.
