—–Government is not happy with the new houses being built for displaced villagers in Mukulumpe area by the NFC Africa (NFCA) Mining Limited.

ZANIS Kalulushi Reports that Labour deputy minister Rayford Mbulu has ordered NFCA to immediately demarcate the houses as agreed in the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU).

This came to light yesterday when Mr Mbulu toured the housing project.

The mining firm and the Council had agreed to build stand alone houses for the villagers but the firm went ahead to build semi-detached flats without consulting the stakeholders.

This resulted in the Kalulushi Municipal Council to halt the project until the MOU is followed accordingly.

And Mr Mbulu who is also area Member of Parlimanet for Kalulushi has urged NFCA to respect Zambians as they support their investment.

Meanwhile, NFCA Corporate Affairs Manager Nelson Jilowa said the company would address all the issues raised in the K12 million housing project.

He added that the problems in the plan were caused by an engineer and that the firm was committed to working with government in improving people’s lives.
