Swedish Ambassador to Zambia Lena Nordstrom says there is need to provide more information on business and economic issues in the media.
Ms Nordstrom said this creates a platform for the media to highlight what government and the business community are doing to boost the country’s economic growth.
She said this during the closure of the media training workshop by the Embassy of Sweden in Partnership with partners guide Magazine in Lusaka today.
And Speaking earlier, Partners Guide Magazine, Chief Editor Ray Willbern said it was difficult for the public to have access to information on business and economic issues if the media to do not write stories on such matters.
Mr. Willbern said the five day intensive training workshop has created a platform to highlight the importance of the media to cover and provide business knowledge to the public.
And one of the workshop participants Majorie Mulenga called on journalists to market the country’s abundant business opportunities to both local and foreign investors.
Ms Mulenga said investors were interested in investing in the country hence the provision of essential information on economic and business was cardinal to the country’s economic development.
