THREE police officers of Ndola and a driver have been arrested for allegedly stealing two drums of electric cables valued at K1.6 million from Dangote Industries Limited.
Copperbelt Province Commissioner of Police Joyce Kasosa said yesterday that the Ndola Central Police Station-based police officers have jointly been charged with the driver for alleged theft by public servant.

Ms Kasosa has identified the suspects as Inspector Kelvin Sitwala, 32, of house number 34 and Constable Mukosa Mulenga, 26, of house number 53, both at Kansenshi Police Camp, and Sergeant John Phiri, 29, of house number, 32, Masala Police Camp.
She named the driver who works for Dangote as Pethias Sinyangwe, 30, of Fikwilizali area in Kalulushi.
“I can confirm that we have arrested three police officers and a driver from Dangote Industries who allegedly stole two drums of electric cables from the plant during the course of their duty.
“The quartet was apprehended about a week ago, but they were only formally charged and arrested for the subject offence on Friday last week,” Ms Kasosa said.
She said the officers were tasked to provide security at Dangote when they allegedly stole the drum of electric cables.
Ms Kasosa said the suspects are expected to appear in court today.
