Jehovah’s Witnesses are expected to hold the first-ever and biggest convention, where over 40,000 people are expected to attend, at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola next month.
The convention under the theme, ‘Keep seeking God’s Kingdom’ will attract over 115 congregations on the Copperbelt Province.
Assistant spokesperson Clifford Musonda said in a statement that the convention that will run from August 22 to 24, 2014 will be the biggest meeting in the church’s history.
“This convection will explain what the Kingdom of God is and how it can be a positive influence in our lives. We will also discuss how the kingdom is benefiting the people today,” he stated.
Mr Musonda said the convention would also mark this year as a centennial event since Jesus Christ began to rule as King of God’s Kingdom in 1914.
He said the church was extending its invitation to other witnesses across the country and that admission to the conference would be free.
He added that the church in Zambia was planning to host over 145 conversions in more than 60 districts this year.
Worldwide, he said, the church had more than 7,900,000 witnesses in more than 113,000 congregations.
