Chawama MP seeks credible investors

–PF Chawama Constituency Member of Parliament  Edgar Lungu says he only wants credible but potential investors to invest in his area.

Mr. Lungu says he will not allow ‘cosmetic’ investors that are bent on not developing the area.

Mr. Lungu said investors interested to invest in Chawama should be serious because the PF Government is in a hurry to develop not only Chawama but the country as a whole.

Mr. Lungu, who is also Defense Minister, pledged to continue attracting more investors to his area in order to develop it.

He was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today.

“i only want potential investors to invest in my area and not fake ones. We’re in a hurry to develop Chawama and somebody shouldn’t take us backwards,” he said.

The Minister said he is aware of a named investor who was allocated land sometime back to develop it but allegedly delayed but has now changed his mind and wants to demolish the newly constructed Chawama Police Station claiming that it was still his property.

Mr. Lungu warned that he would not allow the demolition exercise to happen because the land in question has got his and the full blessings of the Lusaka City Council.

He however, commended other investors operating in Chawama township in the quest to help the government stir development forward.

Mr. Lungu boasted that Chawama has pave Zambia 2,000 roads being constructed, good water and sanitation services including electricity to attract the potential investors to the area.
