United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has charged that the country is in a serious leadership crisis.

Speaking to Journalist at the Lusaka Magistrate Court after the adjournment of the case in which he is facing charges of publication of false news by claiming that the Patriotic Front had trained militias in Sudan, Mr. Hichilema says it’s unfortunate for Vice President Guy Scott to begin dividing the nation using what he described as unfair remarks against others.

He says Dr. Scott should instead show leadership by being neutral in the manner he responds to some issues.

In a BBC interview recently, the vice President is reported to have referred to the people of southern province as a minority tribe campaigning and insinuating that there would be a Presidential by-election in the country.

Mr Hichilema has also accused Dr. Scott of causing confusion in the ruling party by his utterances.

Dr. Scott has been quoted in some sections of the media as saying that Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata and Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubinda do not qualify for the Presidency.

  4. Bluntly there is no leadership in Zambia and we are seemingly headed to nowhere promising! We are just hanging in there on auto pilot and because previous administrations left planned programs stolen by the PF and are now being implemented!
