Patriotic Front Mufumbwe Member of Parliament Steven Masumba says there is no formidable opposition in Zambia to dislodge the ruling PF in 2016.

Mr. Masumba has told ZNBC news in Lusaka that internal leadership wrangles have weakened parties such as MDD and greatly reduced chances of the former ruling party to bounce back into power.

He has since urged the PF to concentrate on recruiting more members and reorganizing the party from lower organs up to national level.

Mr Masumba has on the other hand appealed to the Members of the PF considering themselves to be more PF than others to humble themselves.

But MMD National Secretary Muhabi Lungu says the PF will be judged by the electorates during the general elections in 2016.

And UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema says it is an error in judgment to expect Zambians to back the PF in 2016 when the majority of Zambians are allegedly suffering from the disease of poor leadership under the PF administration.

Meanwhile, Opposition Alliance for Better Zambia president Father Frank Bwalya says it is wishful thinking for the PF to think that they still enjoy massive popularity because many election promises remain unfulfilled.

And Masumba says his conviction over a fake accounting diploma from NIPA has negatively affected development in his constituency.

Mr. Masumba says this is because he can not spearhead development in Mufumbwe as he is a ceremonial law maker at the moment.

Mr Masumba was convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment with hard labour after he was found guilty of taking pecuniary advantage by false pretences, the sentence he has since appealed against in the Lusaka High Court.
