–The Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) in Kawambwa district has called on the farming community in the area to seriously embrace its Bujimi Asset and the LIMA credit schemes to enable them enhance agriculture in the district.

District ZNFU Credit and Marketing Facilitator, Collins Siasulingana, made the call in an interview with ZANIS in Kawambwa during the Agricultural and Commercial Show held at the Tea Estates at the weekend.

Mr Siasulingana said the Bujimi and LIMA Credit Schemes that the ZNFU was offering will enable farmers access agricultural credits, hence the need for the farmers to embrace the organisation’s services as they will enable them take agriculture to another level.

And Mr Siasulingana has urged farmers not to sell maize to brief case buyers because they are exploiting them.

He noted that government’s floor price of K70 per 50 kg bag is attractive, adding that farmers should sell their maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).
