Govt. disburses K 31, 590, 000 for infrastructure construction works in Mufumbwe District
Solwezi, June 29th, 2014, ZANIS — Government has disbursed K31, 590, 000 for the construction of class room blocks, teachers houses and VIP toilets in Mufumbwe district.
Chiefs and traditional affairs deputy minister Susan Kawandami disclosed this in Mufumbwe yesterday during the Ntongo traditional ceremony of the Kaonde people of Chief Chizela.
Ms Kawandami said works in all the schools were funds have been disbursed are almost ninety percent complete.
She said the disbursement of the funds id a clear testimony that government is committed to reducing illiteracy levels in all parts of the country.
Ms Kawandami also said government has allocated fourteen million kwacha towards the upgrading of the 15.7 kilometres Mufumbwe township roads to bituminous standard under the pave Zambia 2000 project.
She called on traditional leaders to support government in its quest to deliver development and uplift the living standards of people across the country.
Speaking earlier through a representative , Chief Chizela appealed to government to allocate more funds towards the completion of the first ever Mufumbwe boarding school which has stalled due to inadequate funding.
