United Party for National Development (UPND) Vice President for Politics Canisius Banda says Vice President Guy Scott’s conduct and utterances should be reflective of the position he holds.
Reacting Dr. Scott’s interview with the BBC Focus on Africa where he is said to have referred to the people of southern province as a minority, Dr. Banda says Dr. Scott should be a champion of national unity who should avoid language viewed as divisive.

Dr. Banda says the vice president’s tribal statements are subtracting the dignity of the office he holds.

He says this is especially that the Zambian people in the country do not see him as a white person but as a Zambian citizen
