Pro.Kasuka calls for hard work


Mansa, June 27, 2014, ZANIS —– 128 Students have today graduated at Mansa College of Education under the University of Zambia Primary Teachers Diploma.

 


And Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo said government is committed to uplifting the education standard in the country.

 

 

This year’s graduation is the third since the college began offering the Primary Teachers Diploma in conjunction with the University of Zambia.

 


ZANIS reports that University of Zambia Vice Chancellor Professor Kasuka Mwauluka said this during the ceremony.

 

Professor Kasuka has called on the graduating students to offer high standard of education which they have been taught at the school.

 


Professor Mwauluka reminded the graduating students that as teachers they have a tusk of making literate and educated the learners in various schools they will be working from.

 


He has since called on the graduating students to uphold the teaching service professional ethics adding that doing so will build the name of institutions where students are trained.

 


Earlier Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo said government is committed to uplifting the education standard in the country.

 


Mr Kasolo cited the introduction of a Degree and Master’s program at primary level of education as a clear indication of government’s commitment towards uplifting the education standards in the country.

 


Speaking through Luapula Province Assistant Secretary Joshua Kamanya, the Permanente Secretary said government wants to see to it that the minimum qualification for both primary and preschool teachers is a Diploma.

 


He urged the graduating students to be disciplined adding that government needs a well-disciplined staff to spearhead development in the country.

 


And Mansa College of Education Principal Peter Chishimba expressed gratitude at the performance of female students at the school.

 


Mr Chishimba said the performance of the female students at the school is a clear indication that women can perform if given an opportunity.

 


He called on the graduating students to work hard and ensure that they implement the new education curricular of offering local languages in schools in which they will be working from.
