Students set off for a 10-day charity trip to Zambia yesterday.

A total of 15 Year 11 pupils of Roding Valley High School, in Alderton Hill, Loughton, will help to improve facilities for a school in Kitwe, Zambia.

They raised money for ‘Beyond Ourselves’ charity, who work to bring education and medical care to Zambian children.

Headteacher Paul Banks said: “This is an experience of a lifetime for everyone involved.

“They are amazing ambassadors for the school and I am sure they will enjoy every minute of the trip.”
