Losing  Siavonga Constituency Patriotic Front(PF) candidate during 2011 Lovemore Kanyama has warned Foundation for democratic Process president MacDonald Chipenzi to stop condemning the ruling party in the area.

Mr Kanyama claimed that Mr Chipenzi has political ambitions to contest the Siavonga seat under the United Party for National Development (UPND) ticket.

He told ZANIS  in an interview in Lusaka today that the ruling party has done a lot in Siavonga such as the construction of schools, clinics, hospitals and massive road infrastructure.

And efforts to get a comment from Mr Chipenzi  proved futile by press time as his phone went un answered.

Mr Kanyama lamented that campaigns for the PF candidate for Mulimwa Ward  Dickson Chileka are going on well and that the party is confident of scooping the seat.

Mr Kanyama revealed that Mr Chileka won the Mulimwa ward seat in 2011 as an independent candidate  but that now he had defected to the ruling party hence his decision to re-contest the same seat.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ)  has set Tuesday, August 19, 2014, as the date on which parliamentary by- elections for Mangango constituency in Western province  and 20 ward elections will be held.

The ward elections will be held in Central, Copperbelt, Luapula, Southern and Western provinces following deaths, resignations and convictions of some councilors.

The campaign period is set to commence from Thursday July 10 after the nominations and end on Monday August 18, 2014 at 18:00 hours.
