FOUR men, including a witchdoctor, have been arrested by police in Mbala for allegedly killing a 72-year-old man on suspicion that he was practising witchcraft.

Northern Province commissioner of police Charity Katanga confirmed the incident in an interview from Kasama yesterday saying Kapembwa Sikapizye, 43, a witchdoctor, and three of his clients allegedly tattooed Winwell Sikazwe of Chief Tafuna’s area before he was beaten and murdered.
The other suspects are Tilenge Silavwe, 30, Humprey Sinyangwe, 32, and Alfred Sichilima, 35.
Ms Katanga said the quartet is in police custody.
She said Mr Sikazwe was murdered around 20:00 hours at his home.
Ms Katanga said the suspects used razor blades to tattoo Sikazwe and also allegedly kicked him.
“Three men had gone to see a witchdoctor over the death of some man and the witchdoctor directed them to the deceased,” she said.
And a 45-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly causing the death of a one-year-old child in an accident involving a Government ambulance.
Ms Katanga said Patrick Mulenga of Chiba village in Kasama has been arrested over the death of Joshua Mawere ,who was strapped on the back of his mother when the accident happened.
She said Joyce Bwalya, 20, the mother of the deceased, was trying to cross the Kasama-Mporokoso road when the accident happened around 19:00 hours on Sunday.
“The woman was trying to cross the road with the baby on her back when she was hit by the ambulance. She fell to the ground with the baby fell on his head and died on the spot,” Ms Katanga said.
And a female teacher at  Undi Primary School in Katete has been stabbed to death by unknown people, Eastern Province Commissioner of Police Grace Chipalila has said.
Ms Chipalila said Esther Mwenda, aged about 30, was murdered after allegedly being trailed from a bank.
She said in an interview in Chipata yesterday that the teacher was found dead on Sunday in her bedroom after sustaining a deep cut on the head.
“We do not know the circumstances that led to the death of the teacher but according to the tips we received, she was being trailed from the bank and the suspects could have used a sharp knife or an axe to murder her,” Ms Chipalila said.
No suspects have been arrested.
And Police have arrested a 42-year-old man of Chipata’s Magazine Township for allegedly murdering his nine -month-old daughter in April.
Ms Chipalila said Masautso Ngoma had been on the run since allegedly committing the crime in April but was arrested on Saturday.
She said Ngoma allegedly murdered his daughter, whom he dumped in a bush near St Anne’s Catholic Church in Chipata.
Ms Chipalila said police discovered the remains of the baby in the bush.
