United Party for National Development (UPND) in Northern Province has accused the ruling party Patriotic Front of using the Zambia Police to suppress people with divergent views.

UPND Provincial Information and publicity Secretary Edward Musonda told Mano news today that PF has demonstrated in its short time in governance that it wants to turn the Zambia Police into a party wing.

Mr. Musonda cited the alleged call by PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba on republican president Michael Sata to direct police to arrest party members with divergent views and the call by Minister of Chiefs affairs Professor Nkandu Luo to arrest Chiefs who have not been gazetted as some of the dictatorial tendencies being perpetuated by the ruling party.
