Over 1,600 defect to PF in Kaoma District

Kaoma , June 17th, 2014, ZANIS —  The Patriotic Front National chairperson Inonge Wina says the PF government means well to the people in Kaoma district.

Mrs. Wina says it was for this reason that the PF government will tar the 360 kilometre stretch of Kaoma – Lukulu – Watopa road.

She said this development will create employment to many unemployed youths in the district when the construction works commences.

Mrs Wina said the ruling PF government has sent a very elaborate precedence where development is being accelerated in all the corners of the country.

She said Kaoma district would benefit nine rural health centres from the total 650 rural health centres that the government has earmarked for construction countrywide.

ZANIS reports that the minister said this when she received over 1, 600 opposition party members from MMD and UPND who defected to the ruling PF in Mangango constituency, today.

Mrs Wina said she was sent by President Michael Sata to Mangango constituency in Kaoma district of Western province to receive defectors.

And among the defectors were former Mangango constituency Member of Parliament Taundi Chiseke and his followers, and several UPND members.

And Mr Chiseke said he has ditched his former MMD party because of the unprecedented development the area since the PF party came to power.

Meanwhile, Western province member of the central committee Mrs Winnie Oyati says the defections were an indicator that the ruling PF party was gaining momentum in the Province.
