Govt. calls for Traditional Leader’s participation in National Development
Luano, June 17TH , 2014, ZANIS —- The PF Government has called on traditional Leaders to actively participate in National development.
Central Province Minister Obvious Mwaliteta says government attaches importance to the traditional leadership demonstrated by their representation at national, provincial and district levels of the governance system.
Mr. Mwaliteta added that traditional leaders play a critical role in promoting unity and self reliance among their subjects .
The minister said this in a speech read on his behalf by Central Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ronald Sinyangwe in gracing Chief Kaundula’s installation Ceremony, over the weekend.
He urged Traditional Leaders in Luano District and national wide to help realize PF Government’s vision of eradicating poverty and creating job opportunities by ensuring that Productivity Committees in their chiefdoms were established and functioned effectively.
Mr. Mwaliteta further implored traditional leaders and other stakeholders to support the PF Government in ensuring that services such as Education and Health facilities, Communication, and better Road Networks were brought closer to the People.
Meanwhile Chief Kaundula’s Representative George Kapemba said that among the challenges the Chiefdom faced were lack of clean water, electricity, and shelters for maize.
