Employment opportunities by local company please youths in Chitambo District

Chitambo, June 17^th, 2014, ZANIS —  SEVERAL youths in Chitambo have expressed happiness over the employment opportunities that have been offered by SIMU Construction Company constructing for the Chitambo Nursing School.

The company has employed 41 local youths reducing the level of employment in the area.

Project Foreman Jackson Banda told ZANIS that SIMU is an organized company and it is pleased to have offered employment to local youths.

Mr. Banda pledged to carry some of the hardworking youths to Lusaka after at the end of its contract.

“SIMU is a very serious and organized company. We are happy to have employed local youths and we intend to take some of them to Lusaka. If they are serious, hardworking and committed, there is no problem, we will go with them,” he said.

One of the youths Evans Musenge said SIMU has given him an opportunity to learn new skills and to be kept busy other than wallowing in misery and beer drinking.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Musenge who is a school leaver said the job has given him an opportunity to save money for tertiary education as he intends to go to college soon.

“I am happy to have been employed by SIMU because I am learning new skills and at least I am kept busy and staying away from beer. It has also given me an opportunity to save money for college because I really want to advance my studies,” he said.

And another youth Dennis Kateya said the company has accorded him a chance to add more knowledge on the little he knows about building adding that even though they left, he would have known the job.
