Govt hands over clinic to Mulambwa clinic in Mongu District

Government has handed over a newly constructed Clinic in Mulambwa area of Mongu district, Western Province built
at a cost of K220, 000.

 


And Mongu Central Member of Parliament Nathaniel Mubukwanu says that government has further disbursed K250, 000 for the commencement of phase two at the clinic in the 2014 budget.

 


Mr. Mubukwanu who is also North-Western Province Minister said government will continue to source funds for the completion of construction works at the clinic.


And speaking at the same function, Provincial Medical Officer Dr. Andrew Silumesii said the opening of the health facility will improve health services in the area.

 

Dr. Silumesii said that clinic will enable staff to provide caring, competent services in a cleaner environment.


Meanwhile, Kashina Sitali a community member who gave a vote of thanks
government for keenly monitoring the project from its inception.


Mr. Sitali who is Project Chairperson said it was gratifying the community now have a modern clinic a dream that was embarked on 11years ago.

 

The clinic whose construction works were started in 2003 by community
members received funding from the community, the Constituency Development Fund
and the ministry of health, respectively.

 

A nongovernmental organization called as Christian Brothers donated K15, 484, the CDF by the community used K50, 000 and while the ministry of health donated K150, 000 , respectively.

The new health facility will provide among other health services, deliveries, laboratory services, pharmacy, counseling and testing and ART services as well as Mother child and Health, respectively.

 


Before the construction of the new clinic, Mulambwa clinic was being
operated from a two bedroom house and was established 1977.
