The Patriotic Front in Northern Province has expelled several party members in Kasama District for alleged gross indiscipline.

PF Acting Provincial Chairperson Peter Mwansa confirmed the development to ZANIS today and said the expulsions will be communicated to the party’s top leadership for further action.

Mr Mwansa charged that the ruling party will not tolerate indiscipline members, who are bent on causing confusion among party structures.

He also expressed disappointment with some PF members in Kasama who offered solidarity to Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) leader Father Frank Bwalya when he appeared for a court hearing yesterday.

Mr Mwansa warned that all those that would be found wanting will be disciplined according to party regulations.

And another PF official Hilda Banda charged that those PF members siding with Fr. Bwalya must consider themselves expelled from the ruling party.

Mrs. Banda said it was morally wrong for the PF members to align themselves with an opposition leader who had allegedly brought the name of the Head of State into disrepute through his utterances.

She challenged party members in the forefront of instigating confusion to leave the ruling party and join other political parties.

Among the expelled party members are Kasama Central Constituency Chairperson Abraham Mulenga, District Women’s Information and Publicity Secretary Ireen Chitongo and her counterpart for Youth Affairs Jackson Simuntenda.

Recently, some sympathizers’ of Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba held a protest match against PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba demanding for his removal from his position.

However, Mr. Mwamba is quoted by a local radio station as saying he had nothing to do with some PF members that protested against Mr Kabimba in his constituency.
