First Republican President Dr Kenneth Kaunda has praised Zambians for the manner in which they celebrated his 90th birth day which fell on May 28, 2014.

Dr Kaunda said this shows how Zambians are embracing the One Zambia One Nation slogan which he initiated when took over the administration of the country in 1964.

He said this today when National Airports Corporation Limited presented gifts to him to cerebrate his belated 90th birth day  at his office in Lusaka.

The First Republican President further urged Zambians to continue embracing the slogan of One Zambia One Nation for the sake of peace in the country.

Dr Kaunda said Zambians are one people and as such, should remain united for ever if the country is to continue to grow economically.

And speaking earlier, National Airports Corporation Limited, Mubanga Musakanya, said Zambians will always remember the contributions Dr Kaunda did for the nation.

Ms Musakanya said Dr Kaunda always preached for peace to prevail in the country despite it having several ethnic tribes.

She observed that as the founding father of the country, Dr Kaunda managed to do a lot in terms of developing this country economically for the benefit of the Zambian people.

Ms Musakanya also disclosed that the corporation has donated K6,500 and some education materials to the Albino Foundation of Zambia.

Meanwhile Albino Foundation of Zambia President, John Chiti, hailed the National Airport Corporation Limited for the gesture.

Mr Chiti stated that the gesture will go a long way in uplifting the welfare of Albinos in Zambia.
