The Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) says Copperbelt University Students are justified in their demands to have a 45% increment on their meal and project allowances.

FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza has told QFM News that this considering the increasing cost of living in the country.

Mr Mwanza says students cannot survive on K22.00 per day in view of the high cost of living in the country.
Mr Mwanza calls on government to positively respond to the demands by the students.

He has also noted the need for government to consider increasing the budgetary allocation for the education sector in the 2015 national budget as a long term measure to the challenges facing institutions of higher learning in the country.
