Stella Libongani in Northern Province for a three day tour

Inspector General of Police, Stella Libongani has arrived in Northern Province for a three day tour.

Divisional Senior Staff Officer, Lewis Musonda confirmed this to Mano News, saying Ms. Libongani will be in the region on a three-day familiarization tour.

Mr. Musonda has since disclosed that the Inspector General of Police is slated to visit and address officers in Chilubi, Mungwi and Luwingu districts respectively.

Government has announced that it intends to set-up the first ever In-service Training Centre for Police and Prisons Service officers.

Speaking when he visited and addressed police and Prisons service officers in Kasama, Mbala, Mpulungu and Luwingu recently, Home Affairs Deputy Minister; Stephen Kampyongo stated that the said In-service Centre will be situated on the Copperbelt Province.

Mr. Kampyongo said once operational, the In-service Training Centre will offer programmes that will address the required skills and knowledge of a modern-day officer.

He further called on respective officers to take advantage of the centre as soon as it opens.
