PF National Youth Chairman Chishimba Kambwili says enacting a new Republican Constitution is not a priority for the PF government.

Mr. Kambwili who is also Sports Minister says government will not be compelled to spend huge sums of money to hold a referendum at the expense of development.

He said as much as the PF Government wants to deliver a new constitution, the cost of concluding the constitution making process is gigantic.

Mr. Kambwili said the high poverty levels especially in rural areas entails that Government focuses on delivering social and economic development to such areas.

He said the constitution making process is not as important as taking water, education and health services to the poor people.

Mr. Kambwili has lashed out at some intellectuals in Zambia saying most of them have nothing to offer to the nation.

He said so called educated men and women in Zambia are the ones that have let down the country.

Mr Kambwili said the intellectuals are merely good at talking but fail to implement anything tangible when they are given a chance.

  1. I fail to understand the thinking of politicians for is it not the constitution that that is the foundation on which national development is built on? Now everybody is taking the demanded constitution as though it is a mere piece of paper which citizens would like to read like they do newspapers! People want to know the “new” constitutional provisions and way forward on national aspirations. Lets watch these politicians they are tired and don’t understand why the demand for release of the new constitution! Is it not the same constitution that ensures basic human needs as water, health services and education that Kambwili mentions? Vote them out!
