Govt. to modernize Chilubi Airstrip

Chilubi Member of Parliament Obious Chisala says  government  plans to upgrade the Chilubi airstrip  into a modern airport in Northern Province.

Mr. Chisala says government will soon send a team of technocrats to go and do feasibility studies on the site before commencing on the exercise.

He said officers are expected to arrive in Chilubi district and start the works in a fortnight.           

ZANIS reports that the Chilubi Member of Parliament who is also Gender and Child Development Deputy minister said this when he held a public rally in the area , May 25th.

Mr. Chisala observed that once the aviation industry is improved on Chilubi Island tourism attractions are likely to be boosted in the country. 

He explained that Government wants to ensure tourism industry is improved in all areas that have tourism potential in the country.

He stated that this is just among other developmental projects being undertaken by Government in the area.

Mr. Chisala sited other capital projects taking place in the area as constructions school and hospitals.

He  also called on traditional leaders in the area to work with Government of the day if there to see quick development in the district.
