MMD president Never Mumba’s case in which he has been cited for contempt of court for ignoring a court injunction restraining him and others from holding the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on 27th April which elected Muhabi Lungu as National Secretary today failed to take off.

This was after lawyers for Brain Chituwo and Michael Kaingu the two MMD vice presidents who instituted contempt proceedings applied for an adjournment in order for them to study preliminary issues raised by Dr. Mumba legal team.

The matter has been adjourned to Friday 16th August at 14:00hours for hearing.

And addressing party members who had accompanied him to give solidarity after the adjournment, Dr Mumba said those that want to destabilize the former ruling party will not succeed.

Dr Mumba adds that it is irrelevant for people of the same party to be dragging each other to court instead of ensuring that the government improves the lives of Zambians majority.

And Dr Mumba says Zambia will not eat the projected bumper harvest but want mealie prices to reduce.

He says Zambians will not be distracted by the Patriotic Front, stating that people are suffering because of the high cost of living in the country.
