The Ministry of Finance has released K242 Million for April salaries for civil servants and other obligations.

Ministry of Finance Public Relations officer Chileshe Kandeta in a statement to QFM says the money will also go towards compensation and awards, pension employers share to NAPSA, pension employers share to the Public Service Pensions Fund and for personal emoluments in Zambia’s Missions Abroad.

Mr Kandeta says consistent with government’s objective of strengthening cash and treasury management, all civil servants salaries are on the Direct-Debit and Credit Clearing [DDAC] System.

Mr Kandeta says of the K242 Million, K135 Million has been released to various institutions for salaries for civil servants, K31 Million to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for emoluments for staff serving in Zambia’s missions abroad, K30 Million to the Ministry of Justice for cases of compensation and awards, K25 Million as Pension Employers Share to NAPSA and K21 Million as Pension Employers Share to the Public Service Pensions Fund.
