Zesco United coach George Lwandamina has given on-loan defender Hichani Himonde a satisfactory rating following his debut last Saturday in the clubs’ 3-1 home win over Nchanga Rangers.

The Zambia defender is currently on a six month loan stint at Zesco from South Africa Premier Soccer League club Mamelodi Sundowns.

“He was OK although he is still lacking game fitness,” Lwandamina said.

“With more games I am sure he will get back to the levels we expect him to be at.”

Himonde arrived at Zesco last Monday from Sundowns who signed him last January from DR Congo club TP Mazembe.

However, Sundowns decided to loan the defender to Zesco after exceeding their foreign player quota.

Himonde is not a new face at Zesco and spent a season with the Ndola club in 2009 before heading to Mazembe.

The defender is also one of two Sundowns players at Zesco including another defender Emmanuel Matias of Togo who joined the Ndola club a fortnight ago.
