19 year old boy of Chikankata allegedly kills his 87 year old grandfather.

A 19 year old boy of Chikani Village in Chikankata District has allegedly killed his grandfather by beating him.

Nephew to the deceased, John Choopa confirmed the incident to ZANIS yesterday.

Mr. Choopa said the incident happened on April 7, 2014 between 16 and 17 hours.

He said the suspect, Gaspar Moonga came home in the late afternoons and found his Grandfather sited outside the house.

Mr. Choopa disclosed that the suspect immediately reached out to his grandfather and slapped him on the face.

After that he began hitting him hard and kicking him all over his body.

He added that onlookers then pulled the suspect away but the suspect then kicked his grandfather in the stomach who collapsed instantly.

Mr Choopa explained that the grandfather was later rushed to Chikani Clinic where he later died after a few hours.

The suspect, Gaspar Moonga has since been arrested and is being held at Kafue Police Station.

The deceased has identified as Simioni Moonga aged 87, and his body has since been buried.

Getting a comment from Police failed.
