The opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) has backed calls to question the house of chiefs to tell the nation how they accessed the final draft constitution which they have rejected.

The House of Chiefs has resolved to reject the draft constitution which carries a clause they claim takes away their powers and rights over land and gives them to the President.

FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza has told QFM News in an interview that the statement from the house of chiefs has come as a shock to many Zambians considering that government has issued various statements denying receiving the document from the Technical Committee.

Mr. Mwanza has told QFM News in an interview that what is worrying so much is the fact that even the draft constitution that was leaked online was denied by both the government and the Technical Committee and wonders how the house of chiefs accessed the final copy of the document.

Mr. Mwanza states that every Zambian knows that the government has denied receiving the document from the Technical Committee.

He adds that chiefs should come out in the open and tell the nation how they accessed the Final Draft Constitution which the people are eagerly waiting for.
