Cyclist loses control and dies on spot in Shiwangandu.

A cyclist has died on the spot after losing control of the bicycle he was riding along the Great North Road in Shiwangandu district of Muchinga Province.

Both Deputy Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso and Lackson Bwalya a family member confirmed the incidence to ZANIS in Shiwangandu on Tuesday.

Mr. Kapeso said the accident happened yesterday at around 17:45hrs when the deceased identified as Christopher Kabungo carrying a passenger turned his head while riding a bicycle to greet his friend and lost control.

Mr. Kapesa Kabungo died on the spot and sustained head injuries after the bicycle lost control while Sala Chimina a passenger escaped the accident with no injuries.

The Deputy Police Commissioner said the body of the Kabungo is lying at Mpika district Community hospital mortuary awaiting burial.

And Mr. Bwalya family member to the deceased said last week another member of the same family who is the uncle to the deceased died while riding a bicycle in Mpika district.
