The Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) says the scooping of the Katuba Parliamentary seat and a ward in Chililabombwe is a sign that Zambians have accepted it as a party of choice.

UPND Deputy Spokesperson, Edwin Lifwekelo, has told Qfm news in a telephone interview that the winning of the two seats in the just ended by-elections is also a good sign that slowly but willingly the people have seen that his party is the only party that can rescue them from their alleged sufferings.

Mr. Lifwekelo further notes that defeating the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in its stronghold province also implies that the people have rejected the ruling party because of its alleged unfulfilled promises.

The UPND Deputy Spokesperson further adds that the notion that the UPND is a tribal party and that can only win in Southern Province is further being proven wrong going by the February 25 by-elections where his party defeated the ruling PF in its stronghold areas.

He says for this the ruling PF ought to wake up and realize that 2016 will be tough for it to pull through considering that the people of Zambia are allegedly rejected it.
