RDA starts designing toll gates
Lusaka, February 27, 2014—The Road Development Agency (RDA) is working on the designs of toll gates which will be built on appropriate points later this year.
RDA Head of Public Relations Loyce Saili said although RDA is already collecting money on big buses and trucks, the collection of money from drivers of small cars will only start once the toll gates that are being designed are built.
RDA started the collection of toll fees on big buses and trucks last year in their first phase of introducing the toll gates.
She also said that the toll gates will benefit RDA and subsequently the public as a whole because the money from the toll gates will be invested in the maintenance of the roads and making new roads.
Ms. Saili said this will help the country to have better roads that will prevent the many accidents which the country is currently facing.
