CHIPOLOPOLO coach, Patrice Beaumelle has recalled Nkana striker, Evans Kangwa to the national team that kicked off preparations yesterday for next Wednesday’s international friendly match against Uganda.
In an interview after the morning training session at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola yesterday, Beaumelle said Kangwa was returning to the squad as replacement for his injured club mate, Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba.
He said he decided to recall Kangwa to the fold following a good performance he put up during the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final against Red Arrows at the weekend.
Nkana midfielder, Bruce Musakanya is also out of the squad with an injury.
Kangwa was among the 21 players who attended yesterday’s training sessions where FAZ technical director, Honour Janza also rejoined the Chipolopolo coaching bench.
Skipper Christopher Katongo and his brother, Felix were among some of the local players who missed the morning training session yesterday.
However, Beaumelle said more players were expected to beef up the camp later yesterday.
The local players in camp yesterday were Toaster Nsabata, Joshua Titima, Edson Phiri, a product of the nationwide talent identification programme, Jimmy Chisenga, Fackson Kapumbu and Roderick Kabwe.
Others were 2013 Zambian Footballer of the Year Bronson Chama, Julius Situmbeko, Evans Kangwa, Moses Phiri, Shadreck Malambo, George Chilufya and Misheck Chaila.
