Ahead of the March 5 international friendly against Zambia, Uganda Cranes Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has released a squad that will take on the Chipolopolo.

According to the Cranes Media Officer Fred Katende, Micho has summoned 25 players of which seven are local based with the rest foreign based.

Vipers SC goalie Ismail Watenga, compatriot Nicholas Wadada, SC Victoria University defender Denis Guma, Kiira Young centre back Richard Kasagga and KCC FC trio of midfielders Ivan Ntege, Brian Majwega and striker Tony Odur complete the home based contingent.

 

 

Surprisingly, Vipers SC striker Yunus Sentamu who scored three goals for Uganda at CHAN 2014 finals in South Africa is left out.

Sweden based winger Sula Matovu returns to the team after some absence while Tusker FC midfielder Aucho Khalid earns a spot in the squad following his brilliance display at CECAFA 2013 Challenge Cup.

The squad comprises of three goal keepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders and five strikers.

 

 

Meanwhile, Kawowo Sports understands that the team will converge in Ndola for training sessions starting March 3 and only the final 18 selected by Micho and his technical team will make the trip.
